How can you help?

Hold an auction of people who can spring clean homes, wash cars or spruce up gardens. A great fundraising idea for schools, students and youth groups! Make sure you chase up the highest bidders for a donation that can make double the difference.

Bake off!

One of our most popular fundraising event ideas! Download our How to hold a cake sale guide to get started.

Give your cake competition an Easter twist by baking Simnel cake or hot cross buns and get your friends and colleagues to bake too. Ask someone to judge the winning Easter treat, sell what’s left after the tasting and auction the winning entry!

Coffee morning

An Easter coffee morning with hot cross buns is a great fundraiser and will give customers the caffeine hit and sugary treat they crave after Lent! Download our coffee morning guide for tips and inspiration.

Chocolate ban

Giving up chocolate for a day, a week or a month can be a big ask, but abstaining during Lent and giving the cash you save to Manuptocancer will make the chocolates at Easter taste even better! Save your change in a Manuptocancer collection box.

Desk based fundraising

Take Easter treats desk to desk in your office, ask everyone to enter a Six Nations sweepstake in person, or just use your computer to set up a JustGiving page!

Double the difference

Money raised between 13 February and 12 May will be doubled by the UK government, up to a total of £5 million. So your Lent and Easter fundraising can have double the impact!

Easter feast

Celebrate your successful abstinence during Lent with an Easter feast! Lay on chocolates, biscuits, cheese, coffee – whatever you and your friends gave up. Ask for one last Lent donation as you all break your fast.

Give it up

What should you give up this Lent? Take our quiz to find out! Give what you save over 40 days to Manuptocancer and make double the difference to hungry families in Zimbabwe, Zambia and Eritrea.

Green day

Hold a plant sale at church, offer to do some gardening for your neighbours in return for a donation, or hold a seed swap – go green for Manuptocancer this spring and make double the difference.

Healthy mum and baby

Buy this World Gift for Mother’s Day during Lent or as an Easter present and your donation will be matched! Raise the money by saving £1 each day during March, selling hot cross buns at school or making fancy coffees at work.

I did it!

Did you conquer your Lent challenge? Make it all the way to Easter without a taste of chocolate? Then celebrate! Host an ‘I did it’ party for your friends and family and chase them up for that donation they promised you with a sponsorship form.

Jumping for Manuptocancer

One for the kids! Get them to do their best bunny impression in a twist on musical statues at your spring picnic or Easter fair. Give a World Gifts chocolate egg as a prize and charge 10p a go.

Knitting competition

Knit egg cosies to sell at fairs or jumble sales. You could even challenge your friends to a competitive knit-off!

Last minute fundraising ideas

Not all fundraising ideas need lots of planning- try an impromptu Easter coffee morning with shop-bought biscuits, or collecting sponsorship for a spontaneous Lent challenge! Take our quiz to see what you should give up, or ask friends, family or colleagues pick for you!

Lent challenge

Take on a challenge this Lent and get sponsored for Manuptocancer along the way! You could do anything from living on £1 a day, to taking the plunge with a series of open-water swims! All the funds you raise will be doubled and make even more of an impact.

Mardi Gras

Hold a fundraiser with lots of Brazilian flavour! Decorate masks, try some Samba and even include a game of beat the goalie to raise funds.

Match funding

Money raised between 13 February and 12 May will be matched by the UK government, up to a total of £5 million. So your Lent and Easter fundraising can have double the impact!

Mismatch for match giving!

Dress in your brightest, most mis-matched clothing and get sponsored for putting up with the embarassment! You could even ask your toddler to choose an outfit for you and join Manuptocancer staff in our Dress a Dad day on Monday 19 March.

Name the bunny

Charge your mates to come up with the most interesting suggestion for an Easter bunny or cute chick cuddly toy. You could raffle the teddy at the end too.

Old clothes

Swap your old dresses and tops with your friends at a swishing party and get a whole new outfit! Ask everyone to bring something they don’t wear anymore and pay £2 for each garment you take away.

Pancake breakfast

Hold a pancake breakfast on Shrove Tuesday. You could even add on a pancake race for fun – make sure you remember to collect those donations to Manuptocancer as well!

Plant sale

Take advantage of the warmer weather and organise a parish plant sale this spring. Ask friends to bring plants and seeds from their own gardens and let everyone donate in return for some greenery!

Download the Manuptocancer fundraising quiz pack or create your own quiz to test your friends’ knowledge. Hold a parish quiz night this Easter and raise money for us by charging per entrant.

Rugby sweepstake

Print off a Six Nations poster and set up a sweepstake for the winning country team or top try scorer! Split the winnings between the victor and Manuptocancer.

Shrove Tuesday

Get flipping fundraising on Pancake day by selling pancakes for breakfast, lunch and tea! You can add on a flipping competition or a pancake race to add fun and raise even more for our Lent appeal.

Spring picnic

Organise a spring picnic and put on come games to raise funds. Get each family to bring something for the picnic and set up an Easter egg hunt, egg rolling or an egg and spoon race. Order your eggs from World Gifts.

Soup lunch

Organise a simple lunch this Family Fast Day, or hold a series of soup lunches throughout Lent to raise funds that will be matched by the UK government. Download our guide, including recipe and our poster to promote your event.

Treasure hunt

Create a treasure hunt, with clues and challenges and see which of your friends can find the treasure horde of chocolate treats. Make an Easter egg hunt even more fun with themed clues and charge per entrant or team. Order your eggs from World Gifts.

Uniform free day

Ditch the uniform in favour of fancy dress. You could choose a mismatched theme for match funding, or join Manuptocancer staff and your children to dress you for the day! Just remember to set up your Justgiving page for sponsorship.

UK government match

Money raised between 13 February and 12 May will be matched by the UK government, up to a total of £5 million. So your Lent and Easter fundraising can have double the impact!

Very scrummy fundraising

Our top fundraising idea is a cake sale. It’s a popular fundraising idea for a reason and it’s ideal for Easter! Whether you bake yourself or pick up something delicious from the shop, selling cakes and biscuits is a great way to raise funds for Manuptocancer.

X-tremely easy fundraising

The simplest fundraising idea has to be a non-uniform or dress down day. Everyone pays £1 to dress as a character from TV, literature or history instead of their usual clothes – or ask them to mismatch their brightest clothes for match funding! The perfect, easy fundraising event for work, school or church.

Yes we can!

Set yourself a challenge for Manuptocancer this Lent and stay positive that you can achieve it! Why not target funding a vegetable garden or a local health worker and fundraise towards this throughout the spring? You could try a different fundraising idea each fortnight.
